This major first floor renovation consisted of the kitchen, great room, mudroom, foyer, powder room, living room, stairs and exterior. The kitchen renovation involved opening up the closed off eat-in kitchen to the great room. Formal meals now takes place in the dining room while a more casual layout and lifestyle ensues with an open floorplan. The large island separates the Kitchen and Great rooms while creating a clear and open line of sight, perfect for casual family dining and entertaining alike. A walk-in pantry with ice maker and a designated bar with a wine refrigerator and contrasting stone backsplash create ease for entertaining and ample storage. A cased opening with columns was created to architecturally define the two spaces and support the structural beam added to allow the dividing wall to be removed. Outdated finishes were updated with classic, traditional elements including custom stained inset cabinetry, hand made multi-dimensional ceramic and shattered glass tile and show-stopping Moroccan inspired oversized pendant lights. The kitchen now flows seamlessly with the remaining spacious country home with tall ceilings and two story windows.
The powder room was given a more formal and sophisticated update with the addition of painted wainscoting, a free-standing custom cabinet topped with quartzite, crystal sconces and metallic wall covering.
Relocating the laundry room upstairs allowed for the addition of a functional mudroom serving an active family and their four-legged friends. Custom lockers allow concealed storage and an ergonomic dog wash contains the mess.
