This new construction and furnishings project was an exercise in minimalism. The compact floorplan engages the site with expansive walls of windows while maximizing every square foot with functional use of space. Modern clean lines are juxtaposed with warm wood tones and natural finishes. A waterfall island countertop, floating shelves, and concealed appliances allow the kitchen to fuse seamlessly with the adjoining dining and great room. Playful mudroom tile and applied molding details in the foyer speak to the casual, comfortable vibe of the interiors. Color was applied sparingly with pops of abstract art since the landscape views are abundant and invite the color of seasonal foliage visible throughout. Designed for a young family, durable and comfortable furnishings were carefully scaled to complement the two-story volume of the living space which spills outdoors into a front deck and rear covered living room.
