Steps from the ocean, this well appointed beachfront vacation home on Hilton Head Island was already beautiful. Our task was to help it truly work for the way our long-time clients and their extended family live, gather, and unwind together. The goal was clear from the outset: create a home that feels welcoming and relaxed, while thoughtfully supporting large groups with comfort, clarity, and ease.
The design intent centered on honoring the home’s natural coastal foundation while layering in personality through furnishings, lighting, and color. Statement light fixtures, perfectly scaled furnishings and durable upholstery were specified to add character and warmth. Every selection was made intentionally to invite repeat visits year after year.
Great Room
On the main living floor, the furniture plan was carefully crafted to transform an underutilized open area into a highly functional gathering space. Multiple families can now comfortably share the room, with distinct zones for conversation, lounging, and connection. Seating was scaled generously and arranged to encourage togetherness while still allowing for separate moments within the open plan. Comfort was prioritized at every turn.
Dining Room
The dining area became a centerpiece of the home’s social life. A custom, extra-wide dining table anchors the space and comfortably seats twelve with room to spare. Paired with a banquette, the layout allows everyone in the house to dine together with ease. Whether it’s a casual breakfast after a walk on the beach or a lively evening meal, the space supports effortless gathering without feeling crowded.

Throughout the home, moments of personality add delight. The powder room was embellished with playful fish wallcovering, offering a lighthearted surprise.

The primary suite was enveloped in a durable grasscloth-inspired wall covering, creating a calm, textural retreat. These details balance whimsy and restraint, reinforcing the home’s layered, livable character.

Downstairs, the first floor poolside lounge and terrace extend the living experience outdoors. These spaces were furnished to handle constant use while maintaining a relaxed, resort-like feel. Abundant seating and recreation areas make the poolside terrace and lounge natural hubs throughout the day, reinforcing the home’s role as a destination for a large, active family. Maintenance-free outdoor furnishings ensure longevity and peace of mind in the coastal environment.
